Growing up I had a camera in my hand. It was just always something I enjoyed. Mind you, this was the time before smart phones! I learned how to develop film and print photos in the dark room, and then progressed into digital! Our first digital camera had 1.3 megapixels, and I remember thinking it was absolutely amazing! In 2011, I had the strongest urge to take some portraits, and I pulled my younger sister Amy in - and from there, it felt like the clouds had cleared, and I knew what I truly wanted to do in life. It was absolutely surreal -- in a good way!
I photographed my first wedding in 2013 as a favor and a gift. I was never the social butterfly, or really had a lot of friends growing up, so I took a chance, having to take charge. Being in this environment gave me the opportunity to do what I loved and to be seen for who I am. I knew this was something I had to pursue!
Today we specialize in weddings and portrait photography. We take on no more than 20 weddings a year, to make sure we can provide the best quality, service, and versions of ourselves to our amazing clients! After 10 years, we have shot over 250 weddings, and cannot wait to see what the future brings.
Hi! I'm Kate!
I’m a portrait photographer based in Westport, Massachusetts! I am self-taught, with an incredible passion of capturing life's special moments. I joke sometimes that photography keeps me sane - but in reality it's the truth. Growing up when life was hard, photography kept me going. And I believe that holds true today, as it has become the biggest part of who I am as a person. It keeps me grounded, and I wouldn't trade it for the world! I’m soon to be married to my fiancé Ben, after 7 and a half years. I am a dog mom to Tucker, an insanely loveable Golden Retriever!
When I'm not photographing your wonderful faces, you can find me at home, spending time with Tucker, and my family. I absolutely love watching movies, and binge watching the newest reality show Netflix puts out. My favorite place is the beach down in South Westport, in the offseason, when all the summer residents have gone home. It's quiet enough where all you can hear is the rumble and crash of the waves, and the chirping of birds. I'm a big fan of concerts, and try to get my fair share of rock shows in! (With a last name like mine, how could I not be a music fan?)
